Division C field trip information
Review the field trip information below. If your child is unable to attend, they should report to regular Junior Lifeguard class at the Balboa Pier where we will place them with another group for the day. Please Note: We are unable to accommodate individuals that need to leave early on field trip days.
The C field trips are broken into three groups, Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3. Be sure to note which group your child’s instructor is in.

18th Street Beach Orientation
JGs will be meeting at and dismissing from the tower at 18th Street. Please meet at your regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Car Drop-Off/Pick-Up: Heading south on Balboa Blvd., turn left onto 18th Street (toward the harbor) just before the Marina Park Playground. Turn left onto West Bay Ave. and drop your JG there. Instructors will be present and will assist JGs in safely crossing the street. Cars can then exit back onto Balboa Blvd from 19th Street.
Biking Instructions: If you will be biking to this beach orientation, please meet behind Tower 18.
Please wear your Junior Lifeguard uniform and bring a snack with a drink and plenty of water. Please make sure all of your equipment and gear are clearly labeled with your name.
40th Street Beach Orientation
For this beach orientation groups will be meeting and dismissing from Tower #40 in Newport Beach. Please meet at your regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off: Please turn down 41st Street toward the beach, head east on Seashore, turn left on 40th Street (toward Balboa Blvd) and look for lifeguards for additional drop-off/pick-up directions.
Please wear your Junior Lifeguard uniform and bring a snack with a drink and plenty of water. You may also bring a boogie board if you would like. Please make sure all of your equipment and gear is clearly labeled with your name.
Corona del Mar
For this beach orientation groups will be meeting and dismissing from Tower 5. Please drive down into the parking lot for pick-up and drop-off.
Navigate to: 3029 Ocean Blvd, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625.
Beach activities will take place near Tower #5. Please meet at your regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Junior Guards should wear sandals this day. Encourage your Junior Lifeguards to bring a snack with a drink and plenty of water. Also, please make sure all of their gear is marked with their name. JGs may also bring a body board, mask, and snorkel.
Absences / Late Arrival / Early Pick-Up
We are unable to accommodate individuals that need to arrive late or leave early on field trip days.
If your child is unable to attend for the entire session, they should stay home from the Junior Lifeguard Program that day.
