City of Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard Program
Uniform Standard:
Junior Lifeguards are required to wear uniforms in accordance with the Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard Uniform Standard. Please review the standard to ensure your Junior Lifeguard complies with this requirement.
Issued Items:
One of each of the following items is included in the program fee:
- Backpack
- Towel
- T-shirt
- Sweatshirt
- Hat
- Boardshorts
- One or two-piece Swimsuit (for female Junior Lifeguards)
Additional Recommended/Required Items (to be purchased at your local retailer):
- Fins (Required) - When selecting fins, please be sure to get a surf style fin.
- Rashguard (Recommended) - See "Uniform Standard" above for color recommendations/restrictions

Uniform Pick-Up:
Uniform pick-up takes place in June. You may pick up for your family and a maximum of one other family. If picking up for someone else, be sure to have a written authorization note with you (email, text, etc.). There are no sales on these dates.

Uniform Pick-Up & Exchange Dates: TBD
- Location: Junior Lifeguard Headquarters, 901 East Ocean Front, Newport Beach. JG Headquarters is in the parking lot at the end of A Street (near the Balboa Pier).
- If exchanging items, please make sure they are still in new condition with the tags still on them.
Uniform Sale:
These uniform dates are the ONLY pre-program sale dates. Families may also exchange unwashed/unworn uniform items during these dates and times.
- Uniform Sale Dates: TBD
- Location: Junior Lifeguard Headquarters, 901 East Ocean Front, Newport Beach. JG Headquarters is in the parking lot at the end of A Street (near the Balboa Pier).
- Items may be purchased with credit card (Mastercard, Visa, or AMEX) or check payable to the City of Newport Beach. NO CASH.
