Why can't I switch my session during registration?
Families who participated in the prior year's summer program (and who have passed the current year's swim test) have first access to claim their same session for the upcoming program. Since we do not know how many returning morning families will claim their morning session until the end of registration, the sessions are locked until registration is over. See below for additional information.
New families will only be able to sign up for the afternoon session.
Returning families will only be able to sign up for their prior year's session.
To request a different session, sign up for the waitlist.
Signing up for the waitlist:
To be placed on this list, you must check the “waitlist” box then complete your payment for the currently available session.
The waitlist is developed based upon when payment is received.
Space in the morning session is limited. Prior to registration, we will send out space estimates for the morning session. We advise all new families to plan for their JG(s) to participate in the afternoon session.
Returning families wishing to switch to the afternoon will most likely get their session request.
Waitlist requests are evaluated after registration closes. The account holder will be emailed within a week after registration closes to inform them if they were moved into their requested session.
While we try accommodate as many requests as possible, not all requests can be accommodated. Safety is our number one concern for all participants and instructors, and maintaining balanced instructor to participant ratios is highly important.
When will we be notified? Session switch requests will be evaluated once registration closes. Families are typically notified within a week of registration closing.
How will we be notified? The NBJG account holder will be notified via email letting them know if their child was moved into the requested session.
Will you check with me before moving my child? No. If you check the waitlist box and we can accommodate your request, your child will be moved automatically. We do not reconfirm with families that they still want to be moved.
What if one child gets off the waitlist, but not the other? If you have one child that ends up qualifying for the morning session and another that does not, you will be contacted to see if you want to split your children between the morning and afternoon sessions.
Do you take scheduling conflicts into consideration for waitlist? Unfortunately, with the number of JGs in the program, there are many families with special circumstances that pose a conflict with one session or the other. We try to accommodate as many requests as possible, but due to the high demand for the morning session, we aren't able to accommodate all requests. Waitlist development is based on when payment is made and what the total enrollment is for each age group once registration closes.
