Wednesday, June 25 - Corona del Mar State Beach
WAIVER: None
Location: Division A will be meeting and dismissing from Tower #7. JGs can be picked-up and dropped-off at Inspiration Point in Corona del Mar. Navigate to: 3583 Ocean Blvd., Corona del Mar, CA 92625. Please meet at your regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Junior Lifeguards should wear or bring sandals this day. Encourage your Junior Lifeguards to bring a snack and plenty of water. Also, please make sure all of their gear is marked with their name. You may also bring a bodyboard, mask, and snorkel if you would like.
Thursday, July 3 - Orange St. (Tower 68)
WAIVER: None
Location: Division A will be meeting and dismissing from Tower 68, located at Orange St. in West Newport.
Please have your Junior Lifeguard meet in uniform at their regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Junior Lifeguards should wear or bring sandals this day. Encourage your Junior Lifeguards to bring a snack and plenty of water. Also, please make sure all of their gear is marked with their name. JGs are encouraged to bring a bodyboard or surfboard as well.
Wednesday, July 9 - Huntington State Beach (Between Brookhurst St. & Magnolia St.)
WAIVER: None
Location: Division A will be meeting and dismissing from Huntington State Beach between lifeguard towers 5 and 6. Please have your Junior Lifeguard meet in uniform at their regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off: To access this area, enter the parking lot off of Brookhurst Street (if the Brookhurst entrance is closed, use the Magnolia entrance).
Tell the parking attendant you are with the Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard Program and they will waive the parking fee for you to DROP OFF ONLY. If you plan to stay for the day, you must pay for parking. We will have a Junior Lifeguard Instructor in the parking lot assisting JGs to the meeting spot. We will also have a red NBJG EZ-Up on the sand. Click here to see the Huntington State Beach meeting location.
Encourage your Junior Lifeguards to bring a snack with a drink and plenty of water. Also, please make sure all of their gear is marked with their name. JGs are encouraged to bring a bodyboard and surfboard as well.
Wednesday, July 16 - Catalina
WAIVER: REQUIRED - Due July 1
Please complete the waiver in your JG's profile no later than Tuesday, July 1. To access the waiver, log in to your NBJG account and click on the "excursion" link in the upper right corner. The waiver is currently available in your NBJG account; however, you will need to know the name of your JG's instructor when completing this waiver.
Location: JGs will meet and dismiss from JGHQ this day (901 East Ocean Front, Newport Beach). Transportation to/from Catalina will be provided by the City of Newport Beach via the Catalina Flyer departing out of Newport Harbor (Balboa Pavilion). The Newport Beach Fire/Lifeguard staff will coordinate activities including snorkeling, touring, and instruction.
Be sure to Bring: Each Junior Lifeguard needs to bring JG Uniform/gear (trunks, shirt, hat, towel, backpack), snacks, a sack lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, snorkel gear, fins, sandals, and shoes.
Schedule (Subject to Change):
7:10 a.m. - Check-in begins for ALL Division A JGs who have submitted their Catalina form on time.
8:45 a.m. - Catalina Flyer departs for Catalina.
6:00 p.m. - Return to Newport Harbor for Pick-Up
Parents will pick-up their JG at JG Headquarters at 6:00 p.m. after final roll call.

Wednesday, July 23 - Tower 40
For this beach orientation groups will be meeting and dismissing from Tower #40 in Newport Beach. Please meet at your regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off: Please turn down 41st Street toward the beach, head east on Seashore, turn left on 40th Street (toward Balboa Blvd) and look for lifeguards for additional drop-off/pick-up directions.
Please wear your Junior Lifeguard uniform and bring a snack with a drink and plenty of water. You may also bring a boogie board if you would like. Please make sure all of your equipment and gear is clearly labeled with your name.
Wednesday, July 29 - Laguna Beach
WAIVER: None
Location: Division A will be meeting and dismissing from Laguna Beach. Navigate to 419 Cliff Drive, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. Heading South on PCH turn right down Myrtle St., then turn left on Cliff Drive and drop off in the park here (see map). There will be bagged parking meters where families should drop-off/pick-up. JG Staff will be stationed in this area to greet the JGs.
Please have your Junior Lifeguard meet in uniform at their regularly scheduled time, 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Junior Guards should bring a snack and plenty of water. Also, please make sure all of their gear is marked with their name. JGs are encouraged to bring mask/snorkel and a surfboard if they like.
