City of Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard Program
If your child is injured and cannot participate in any of the scheduled swim tests, you may request to participate in the alternate swim test.
In order to be considered for the alternate swim test, you MUST:
- Notify us in writing AND provide the required documents (see next bullet point) PRIOR to the last swim test. Notification should be emailed to newportjg@nbfd.net.
- Submit a doctor's note at the time of your request. The doctor's note must indicate the anticipated recovery date.
- Pay for the program during the registration window. To view the Cancellation Policy, click here.
The alternate swim test date is typically held on or just before the first day of the program. You will be notified once the time and date for your child’s swim test have been determined.
